Behind the scenes Throw Back Thursday

This week I will give you a sneak peak Behind The Scenes. And since it’s Thursday, it’s time for a #TBT. In this video we take a sneak peak into my first acting assignment during acting school on camera.

First Take

The first clip was shot at Griffith park. We were shooting there because NYFA got us a film permit for that location. In LA you need a film permit for everything you shoot in public. Even if it’s for a student’s project.
This one is a mise en scene clip. That is a mute film, so there’s no speech and only use of body language. So you have to act more extravagant, almost like a caricature. Think of a Charlie Chaplin film. To give it even more this old mise en scene look, the actual clips were shot on an antique 16mm camera with old-school film roles.

Universal Star

The second location is at Universal Studios Backlot. That’s the spot where actual movies and TV-series are shot by big production companies. Some examples of movies that are shot over there are: Back to the Future, Psycho, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Fast & The Furious and TV-shows like Desperate Housewives. So the first time I got to shoot there I was super excited! Of course that’s THE place where I would like to work in my future acting career.

It’s pretty funny to see these shots again after one year. You can tell I was just starting and I wasn’t really experienced. But as with everything, you have to start somewhere :)
