First of all, Happy New Year!!

It’s been a while since my last blog post. I was too busy enjoying my holiday break :p But of course, I’m gonna tell you all about it. And I’ll start with an overview of my NYW.

Yep that’s right, here we spend New Year’s Weekend. I started to celebrate the end of 2013 on Saturday at Lure Nightclub. It was an awesome night and the music was amazing! I was so busy partying, that I didn’t pay attention to the DJ. After I looked it up the day after it turned out to be the Dutchman Sidney Samson! A couple of years ago I was a big fan of his music and used to go lots parties where he performed in NL. I even played a small part in one of his music videos back in 2009. So shame on me for not noticing… I just have to blame it on the alcohol :p

Going Dutch again

Another Dutch DJ was visiting LA on Sunday in Create nightclub. I would go see Afrojack in Vegas on Monday, but since Create is not even 5 minutes away from my home, I thought I should check it out. And I’m glad I did, because Afrojack’s set was incredible! I think he’s one of the best DJ at this moment. And apparently I’m not the only one here in LA. People are going crazy in the clubs on his music. I’m sure he’s more successful in the States then in NL. I remember he used to perform in my hometown back in the days and the dance floor was half empty. And now people in LA are almost jumping on his car when he leaves the club. That was a little scary to see though… And that reminds me that fame also comes with downsides.

The fact that these Dutch guys are so successful in the US, inspires me a lot as a Dutch aspiring artist in LA.

Vegas Baby!

On Monday I left for Vegas. It was gonna be my 4th time in Sin City and I have nothing but great memories. So I was really excited to spend NYE there! This night we were going to my favorite club XS. This venue is fabulous! I’ve been to many clubs, but I don’t think any club can outshine XS. After some great cocktails at Encore, we danced on the Afrobeats again and totally got champagne showered.

And then it arrived, the last day of 2013. During the day we went shopping at the Fashion Show mall. Then it was time to get ready for dinner and the last party of the year. This one we spend at Pure nightclub in Ceasar’s Palace. It’s a nice club with a clean, white interior and a rooftop with a view of the whole strip. So it was the best spot to watch the fireworks at midnight.

Let’s go Ne-yo

My sister and I always talk about how pleasant Ne-yo’s voice sounds in our ears. So who could do the countdown better than mister himself! After the fireworks we enjoyed some more of his precious voice and he gave us everything tonight for the first time in 2014. In person he’s a very short man, but he’s got a great voice to compensate that. Damn he’s good live on stage!

After Ne-Yo’s performance we moved to Tryst to meet some friends. The walk to it was already an experience itself. The strip was packed with people, everyone was happy and “Happy New Year”-ing each other. Tryst is also one of my favorite clubs. It has this fancy boudoir style and a huge waterfall. After we closed the club we gambled at the Wynn, put it all on red and we won! :D

So as you can read, the wrap up of 2013 was better than ever! I got to spend it with great people at my favourite spots with some of my favourite artists and music. The only thing I missed, were some of my dearest friends. But may I become a Hollywood actress this year, I’m gonna take them all to Vegas with me next NYE ;)

It was an amazing start of the year, and the best is yet to come ;) May all your dreams come true in 2014!
